How do I know if I am choosing the right major for the career path I want to take?

I am currently stuck between three different majors because they are all so similar. I know what career I want to pursue but I also know that it might take a while to get there. I want to make sure that I am choosing the right major so I can have enough versatility and not be at a stand still, or not exactly where I want, when I finally graduate college. #major #double-major

It sounds like you should at least consider the double major. It's a great way to give yourself more options career-wise once you graduate. As far as you get the right major for the career you want, places tend to be flexible in terms of having a similar degree to what's necessary. Look up actual job postings for the career you're wanting to get into and see if they mention a specific major. Then, talk to your degree counselor and get their input. They should be able to point you in the right direction.

Talking to people who are doing what you think that you want to do will help you decide. Here are some tips on how to get valuable information. A good place to start would be the head of alumni relations at your school who could help you met and talk to graduates of your school who are doing what you think that you want to do so you could see what they do, how they got there, and how you feel about what they are doing.

Please keep me posted. I would like to follow your progress.
