I want to be helpful in assisting people to accomplish their dreams and goals, I'm having a difficult time deciding which industry (housing, addiction, elderly, etc.) to go into, any answers or suggestions?

I have always dreamed of getting my degree and being able to get into the social service field. I am not sure what industry to head towards, my hope is to get some feedback in many different areas by professionals in their field. I want to help people achieve their dreams and goals, I am very good at motivating and feeling a persons sense of motivation and determination. I want to perhaps be a personal cheerleader, or possibly someone that can protect those that haven't the means of advocating for themselves, such as a social service person for abused kids. There are so many options of places that can use the help of others. I would love to hear some feedback from some of these professionals and in turn may help me to make a better decision on my goals in my success through college. I am so excited to finally be working on my bachelors in behavioral science. All feedback is welcomed and appreciated. #bachelors-degree #nonprofits #and #oneyearexperience

Hi Tami -

It is good to hear from someone who wants to devote their life to helping others and making a difference! I think you need to figure out what you are most passionate about - for e.g., if it is children there are many ways to get involved. What most appeals to you? The other way to find out is to volunteer with various organizations that work with children, the elderly, or abused women, refugee families, etc., and see what moves you the most. Then you can talk to the people in that organization to learn more about their career path. Read up about the field as well to see what you might want to specialize in.

Good luck!
