Do doctors have time for travel?

I'm considering becoming a doctor. I feel like it would be a good fit,but I'm also worried that there is not much time for other things I enjoy.I really enjoy traveling and the other career I'm considering would actually require it. How much time for hobbies such as grave would you say a doctor has? #doctor #medicine #surgery #surgeon #travel #translator-studies

Hello, Marissa. You will definitely have time for travel after finishing medical school and residency. While you are in college, medical school and residency, you will need to focus on managing your time and energy to dedicate yourself to work and study. After training, your time will be much more flexible, and you will have a salary with the power to decide how you want to spend your income. Save money and vacation days for fun traveling adventures.

Richard’s Answer

During medical school and residency, you won’t be in control of your own schedule which makes leisure time difficult to obtain. However, after training, you can be in more control and can choose what practice to join based on your needs. You can work less and have more time for travel at the cost of making less money and possibly consulting on less interesting cases.
