Is the Demand for Gym Teachers diminishing?
Hi, I'm currently debating on whether to pursue a career in Exercise Sciences and become a Gym Teacher. However upon researching the job some more, some say that the demand for Gym Teachers is vanishing due to change in county's curriculum, apparently Gym class is not even part of some county's curriculum. While other resources say that the demand has increased more than ever because of an increase of obese children. I need some guidance on this before I make a decision on my major and end up not being able to pursue a career I'd like to have. Please Help #teaching #school #exercise #exercise-science

First, if becoming a gym teacher is your passion, stay the course. Second, in addition to the education courses, be sure to take courses in nutrition, sociology, psychology and some special education courses. As you stated, children are facing health issues. Third, do not be afraid to go where the need is for teachers. Lastly, have fun.

Hello David,
I hope you are doing good. I don't leave in the US, but what I can tell you is that this 21st Century bring wellness. Due to the fact that people are in constant rush from work to home, they are not eating well anymore, causing health issues. Maybe the demand of gym teacher is decreasing at school's, but what I have seen is that there are more people taking care of their health than before. Maybe you can become an independent gym teacher and start your own gym or give private classes. Is that what you love, if that your passion, don't give up, create a new way of doing exercise and you will success.
