What is the highest salary a Marine Biologist can receive?
I am a Senior of 2016 and am interested in Marine Biology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. I am asking this question because I want to get a better understanding on what I will be getting myself into for college. I want to make sure I am confident when going into this field of study. #biology #marine #oceanography #university-of-hawaii #financial-planning

Penny,
There are lots of opportunities to make a good living in biology (even marine biology) but it shouldn't be your primary concern. If you are indeed interested in making a career of biology it should be something you are in love with and something you can see yourself happily doing for the next 30-40 years. The simple fact is that you are probably not going to be considered rich by any standards if you go into this field. You can however be very happy and contribute to our scientific base of knowledge in innumerable ways.
I live comfortably and am very happy with my job, but there are struggles that come with being in the science field.
If money is the determining factor in deciding on a career, I'd suggest finance.
