I agree with Mayble. Nursing the preemies &/or newborn sick babies to health; observing them grow, thrive, become stronger & healthy is an experience that will always be cherished as a NICU nurse. The most rewarding is watching the babies you cared for discharge home safely with their families. Especially when the parents are so grateful for the care provided to their baby.

Mayble’s Answer

Being a NICU nurse was very rewarding. To see the little ones so tiny and helpless to strong babies who get discharged from the hospital is such an experience. Family is always grateful for the care that we do. It is intense and stressful but also very rewarding.
