Stephen’s Answer

I think that if you are planning to take care of patients as a career choice, it is very fulfilling to serve people in that way. It is a privilege to take care of people.
Medicine is very intellectually challenging, and allows you to develop a lot of interesting and valuable skills. There are many career choices in the medical field as well, which gives you lots of opportunities and potentially job stability.

Anna’s Answer

I am a medical student currently! I chose to go into the medical field because I loved the intersection between caring for people and learning the science behind how the human body works! Just from my short time so far as a med student, going into the medical field is hard work, but I have learned from many physicians that I have interacted with that it is also extremely rewarding. People (including many medical jobs besides physicians) that work in the medical field have the opportunity to connect with people in a very personal way. I hope this helps!

Estelle’s Answer

I come from a family of health care professionals, and I have seen my parents, siblings, aunts and uncles all enjoy fulfilling and busy careers in medicine. Physicians can choose surgical specialties, primary care specialties, psychiatry or pathology. The variety of job opportunities is fantastic. Even after you stop practicing medicine, you may choose to enter administration.

Victor’s Answer

Healthcare is such a variety of career choices from clinical to business to research to finance and engineering, etc. It's also undeniably serves very noble purpose of helping people in need and essentially, doing well by doing good. It helps to know about your personal likes and dislikes. Early enough I understood that it's very interesting to me to work in the field of healthcare analytics. Healthcare field offered many interesting job opportunities in provider and payer organizations, healthcare start ups, established technology companies. Good luck with your next steps!
