How do I really know that a career is for me?

I guess this varies for each person, but recently, I've been questioning what exactly is 'right' for me. I get this gut feeling that something is right and that it's exactly what I want, but then I begin to pick at the negative things and then I convince myself that the career path isn't for me. It's like I let my mind talk myself out of some of things that make me the happiest. And with that being said, how do I know if a specific career path is for me? #doctor #career #hospital #life

Sounds like you are experiencing what most of the rest of us go thru as we start our various careers. It is always good to review choices, but what you do with that review is what really matters. If you use it as a guide and are willing to make changes based on what you discover, you are on the right path. You must avoid allowing it to cripple you into a state of indecision and worry. I would recommend getting a copy of the book "Strengths Finder 2.0" (available at Amazon pretty cheap) and going thru the exercises. It doesn't take long and has a good on-line evaluation at the end to let you know what your strengths are. Once you understand what those are, you can then use that information to evaluate prospective careers and see if they actually do fit. Now you have at least some idea about whether you are looking at a career that you will be happy with or if you might need to look elsewhere. This is only one of the tools available to help in this area so feel free to look for others. Hope this helps. Good Luck!
