What kind of hands on projects does a student whos major is in aerospace engineering?

I ask this question because many engineers who have lectured are different from aerospace engineer, never got the chance to gain knowledge about the projects they do. #aerospace

Adrian M.,

No pun intended however with a degree in Aerospace Engineering the sky is the limit. As of right now there are so many new and cool things that are perfect for a younger generation to grasp hold of and bring their ideas to the table. UAV's, Space X, Next Generation Avionic Equipment and Upgrades and really an endless list. So many specific fields to include design, fabrication, testing, operations and installation support.
I've been a key player in many significant projects on VVIP aircraft, Commercial, Cargo Transport and Military but the most exciting was designing the retrofit flight deck for the Boeing 767. The company and I actually obtained a section 41 (Flight deck portion) of a 767 sitting in the desert. This piece was significant for designing & fabricating the structure and electrical requirements to upgrade the antequates flight deck on a 767 to what is currently utilized on a Boeing 787.
You can read all about by googling Rockwell Collins + LDS + 767.
Let me know if you need more information.
