Hi Dakota,

Getting commissions as a composer is not an easy task. It requires much dedication and hard work to not only market yourself and have a professional website, however you also have to spend time networking and reaching out to companies when you're looking for work. Making a career in music as a composer is tough because it is highly saturated with other composers. You first need to stand out amongst the saturation, and also be personable and likable. Most of the work I have gotten has been through talking to people that I meet either in person or going to events where other industry professionals are. It may help if you start making some of your own music and selling it through distribution options via CD Baby or submitting music to Pandora to get you jump started as a composer. If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out to me from my LinkedIn page or my info below. Same goes for anyone else who has any questions on this. I know this is over a year later but I just recently saw this post. Good luck!
