How soon can I expect to receive acceptance or rejection letters?

Depends on what type of rejection/acceptance letters you're talking about! If you mean college, regular decision applicants should receive acceptance/rejection/wait list letters in March or early April at the latest. For early college applications (early action/early decision etc.), you should find out sometime in December.

If you mean job applications, it varies depending on the type of job you're applying for. I've applied for jobs and never heard back! On the other hand, I've received rejection letters as soon as a few days after applying.
