Yes.
Kids need more nurturing and attention. So if you are going to take on jobs involving watching/caring for babies/kids, you are going to have to be alert, attentive, patience and mildly tolerant. But it is a perk to caretake another human being though.

I wouldn't necessarily say harder. Children will require more attention. Whichever population that you chose to care for, you must have a passion for it. I wouldn't say one is harder than the other, but both require something different from you. Follow your passion, that's what makes it easy.
