Practice in the health centre requires training, and you will be taught how to handle babies. generally babies are not hard to handle if you handle them with care. patients can be difficult to handle sometimes but i think usually the psychiatric patients may be more difficult to handle

Hello Jessica,
Handling babies definitely need experienced hands since babies are completely dependent on the primary caretaker and the caretaker must be knowledgeable and skillful. But once you are well versed it is joy handling them.

I started my career in peds and I can honestly say babies are not harder to handle, their parents are. If you are a mom/dad you can likely relate. The way you feel about your baby circumvents any level of rational thinking. Things you may try to explain to a parent may not hit home the same way it would explaining it to a patient directly. It is certainly a special skill set.
