Rahul’s Answer
Seeing your interest in becoming a nurse, what would you do.. Would you be alarmed that it is an emergency? The first thing that you need to be sure about, is the fact, that the heart rate is, in fact, abnormal for the child's age. How would you calculate that? Wouldn't you want to treat the patient as a resident, rather than merely assist as a nurse..

Very complex question actually- while we have specific medicines that slow down the heart rate, the cause for the the tachycardia (fast heart rate) is so important. Sometimes the problem is with the electrical pathways and sometimes it’s because of a genetic abnormality. If the problem is a threat to the baby’s life, an electrical can sometimes “reset” the heart and slow it down. Baby’s heart beat quite fast compared with adults.
