Is it better to get a job on campus or off campus?
I need to get a job to help pay for college, so I was wondering whether it was better to get a job on campus to stay close or off campus. #jobs

When deciding, I recommending thinking of two main factors - transportation and end goal. If your goal with employment while in school is just paying the bills, then I would go for the jobs you can get that will pay you the most and that will fit your schedule, regardless of whether on or off campus. If your goal is to gain skills that would be needed in your chosen profession, you may have to go off campus to gain relevant work experience. For example, I worked in a corporate office (to learn about the business world, just through exposure), worked for a non-profit (so I could gain experience with writing, events and marketing in general); then I waited tables on the side to bring in enough money to pay my bills. For me personally, the on-campus jobs couldn't achieve what I was hoping to accomplish. If you don't have transportation to go where the work is, then on-campus makes the most sense unless public transportation is great where you live.
At the end of the day, any work experience helps. It is all valuable and shows your work ethic. Hope this is helpful!
