As a diagnostic medical sonographer, does your job require you to come in at night?

I would like to know this because I want to be a diagnostic medical sonographer and would like to know if the job will be overwhelming if I have a future family. #career #medicine #hospital #women #ultrasound #sonography #pregnant

Veronica,

If you live in a 2-parent household, and if the spouse works normal hours, it should not cause too much stress for you to get called out occasionally for work at weird hours. I actually worked the overnight shift for 18 years, and my spouse had irregular hours. We always found a way to make it work, including picking the son up after his after school activities were completed, attending games, etc. Although right now that might seem like a lot of stress, as you go through life, you will get better and better at dealing with stress, until, one day, it will seem like no matter what comes your way, you will find a way to deal with it!
