Hi Karoline! For high school it is usually 20-25 students; AP courses vary but for introductory courses it is larger. For college the introductory courses such as general education classes that a student is required to take can be fairly large, rarely it is small; 100-200 students from my experience but even up to 500 based on the college. For science courses the lecture halls can be large as well but the labs will be smaller like 20-25 students.
Best of luck!

Hi:
Class sizes depend a lot of the kind of college or university you are talking about. For a major university (15,000+ students), introductory classes can vary with the subject/major and if that course in part of the school's general education requirement. Generally introductory classes may be as small as 30 to as large and 150+. Popular large lecture classes may top 150. Smaller, private colleges tend to have smaller enrollments and smaller introductory courses that range between 10-25 in most cases and rarely over 75. Of course today many introductory course may be offered using and online or hybrid format , in which case, class size really isn't and issue.
