Hi Maggie --

College is an exciting time with many new experiences, especially if you are living on campus. Probably the most important thing you can do is to establish good study habits and stick to it. Some college students find it hard to study in a dorm setting, so, there is a need to find a quiet space where you can concentrate and accomplish the tasks at hand. Make studying your priority, study before fun. Limit fun to the weekend and even then don't get so carried away that it takes you days to recover. Once you get a good routine and see positive results from your effort, you will be motivated to stay on track and keep your eye on the prize.

Enjoy your time in college, it is a wonderful experience.

Your education is your responsibility. No one is going to tell you to open a book or not and only the grades are going to tell you if you are doing it right or not. Moreover, go to class. Some students don't which I find destructive and wasteful. Lastly, don't procrastinate. If you do you are going to end up with an exam and 3 papers due in the same day! PLAN!!!
