Anthony’s Answer

Great question. Alot of this I think has to do with strong understanding of human values and norms. The understanding on how strongly sociologists, psychologists, special needs educators, etc. impact our lives is not as exceptionally noticed and the importance they have in paving our productive futures. Continue to strive in the field of psychology and help people realize the services that your able to provide.

Hi Vuong,

Great question! I feel it is a result of unbalanced societal values and norms, fueled by constant marketing and worsened by growing income inequality. Those with financial means lobby politicians to enact legislation to further benefit themselves. The result affects not only scientists but also teachers, famers, and most workers. Too much value is placed on entertainment and nonessential material items. Executives, athletes, and entertainers make millions while food producers and processors struggle to make a living wage. We can live without the entertainment and the latest gadgets, but not without food, clean air and water. Perhaps as a Psychologist you will be able to help people realize this unbalance.

Good luck and keep learning.
