Applying for scholarships is the fist thing comes to mind. Moreover, you could work part time in the university/college. Lastly, paid internships could be helpful.

Great question! College is expensive but the price ranges greatly from a community college to a private school. If you're trying to save the first step would be to choose a less expensive school. If you already have your heart set on a pricier school there are still ways to save money.

Apply for as many scholarships you can get your hands on. Work hard in high school, the better your application the more likely a school is to want you and they will show this by providing their own scholarships. There are also grants that can be awarded by the government or other institutions based on need.

Another great option is to become an RA! A resident assistant is someone who lives in the dorm like all the other students but they are responsible for ensuring that the dorm is a safe and healthy living environment for everyone. They go on rounds and check ID's and even host programs for healthy living and wellness. The reward for this is often your own room and free room and board (which is a huge portion of your college expenses unless you plan to live at home). These spots are often really competitive so if this is something you want to do make sure to stay in good standing with your school by getting good grades and staying out of trouble so when you apply you have a better opportunity to be chosen over other applicants.

This is very doable! You just have to do a little reasearch to create a good plan and follow it:

1. There are a lot of good schools that do not cost as much as large schools. Look into those that are a good fit for what you want to study or do.

2. There is a lot of scholarship money out there that doesn't require being the top of your class. Search for those online and apply.

3. Plan on working part-time while in school. Studies show that students that work while in school are more focused / determined and make better grades. This will help you cover expenses.

4. Look for cheaper living options. If you can't live at home, live on campus or get a roommate in a cheap apartment or rent house. Living on campus was more to me anyway!

These 4 things should enable you to graduate without debt. Remember, it is not necessary to do all the luxuries that everyone else does. They will struggle to pay for it later, and you won't.

Enjoy!

Apply for scholarships is my first piece of advice. Also, would suggest attending a local junior college to earn credits in basic courses and then transfer to a university to complete bachelors degree. Would also strongly recommend that students work to off set living expenses rather than take on additional loans for room and board.
