It depends if you are an inpatient (seeing kids in the hospital) or outpatient pediatrician. Usually inpatient pediatricians can work longer hours such as 8am-6pm, but they usually work a few days or a week on service and then have a few days or weeks off. Outpatient pediatricians tend to have a more regular schedule in clinic, such as 8:30am - 5pm and work Monday-Friday; specific times depend on the clinic. There is flexibility in how many days or shifts you want to work.
