Ying’s Answer
- Would I be interested in hardware or software?
- Would I be interested more in hands-on or coding for the whole day?
Based on what you want to do and the skills you have to decide what specific field you would like to be in. Another good way to find out is to try out internships to find out which works for me. Good luck!

hi Arshiya,
Please find how you can make it happen:
Degree Level: Bachelor's degree required in Computer science, information systems, or computer engineering, though some employers prefer Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees.
Experience Usually 5-10 years working in network administration
Skills to be developed during your tenure of work: Analytical and problem-solving skills; aptitude for creativity and design, customer-service skills; the ability to lead a team; knowledge of mathematics, telecommunications, and electronics; ability to use analytical, network security, network monitoring, and administration software programs; familiarity with network analyzers, network switches, and wireless LAN servers
This would be the best route to be a hardware networking engineer.
