Is there any particularly good way to intern or get experience in stage management?

Well it really depends on where you are in your education. Are you still in high school? If so, then get involved with your school's drama department or seek out some community theatre. If you have a local university see if you can volunteer with their theatre. Get involved first in any way you can so you can see if enjoy working backstage in that kind of environment.
