Hi Vanisha,
During normal times, it would depend on your university as well as the specific class you are planning on attending. Generally though, class lectures can range from being held in extremely large lecture halls with the professor speaking in front of the class with a presentation to small classroom discussions that are more one-on-one. The larger lecture halls typically tend to be for classes that a lot of students have to take such as introductory Economics courses.
However, things are very different now because of the COVID-19 pandemic and many universities have adopted an online platform for almost all classes.
Hope this helps,
Josh

Hi Vanisha,
In the current environment, most universities have switched to either remote learning completely or adopted hybrid programs, where there are some on-site classes (laboratory courses etc) following physical distancing guidelines. However, the courses that can be carried out online are conducted remotely.
During normal times, remote learning is minimal unless the program is specifically designed as an online one. The size of lecture halls depends typically on the course and the college/university.
Usually introductory courses or classes that are required for several majors tend to be in larger lecture halls. Additionally, the professors or teaching assistants hold help sessions or office hours, where the students can get one-on-one time to ask questions.
Advanced level or major-specific courses are generally taught in small classrooms. Courses designed for students to get hands-on laboratory experience are almost always conducted in small groups.
Hope this helps...
