Hannah’s Answer
It most likely depends on how wild and what type of piercing. I have two helix and regular ear piercings and one of my med school classmates has a nose ring. Some med schools might be stricter some hospitals have regulations but it varies by location

Hi Vanisha,
Most medical schools do not mind if you have piercings during school, but when we are seeing patients or standardized patients they like us to look and act professional and well-kept. I have ear piercings and I wear conservative pearl earrings while seeing patients. We also keep our nails shorter and painted/plain (no chipped nail polish). However, during lectures and class time they do not care what we wear or if we have piercings or tattoos. The purpose of keeping our nails short, and no dangling jewelry is to keep the patients safe and keep the environment sterile/clean.
