You do have to sit for a state license after you complete your degrees, but all require candidates to pass the national examination administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Licensing varies by state. You should think about completing a Master's, but to be effective and get competitive pay, you will want to pursue your Doctorate.

Yes! As mentioned above OT's have to pass the NBCOT which allowed you to apply for state license. Many licensed profession have a national board you will be required to sit for in order to be eligible to apply for a license.
There are also a variety of specialty certifications you can purse to advance your career, specialize in different field, and possible make a little extra money. Personally, my hospital will pay me for two additional certifications.
