Hi Shimera!
Cool question you've got there. I find it particularly interesting because I am the exact same way but unfortunately I am not a psychologist. I do wish I studied psychology in undergrad but yeah, that's past me now.
There are a lot of other careers outside psychology for people lovers & amazing advisers like you. Some include user experience design, healthcare, teaching, social work, law, art, consultants, veterinary or not-for-profit work.
One thing I'll say though is: Don't get too interested in getting it at first try. If you do, that's amazing but if you don't it's amazing too. I personally haven't had a straight career path, I've been all around the place & I'll still continue to be all around the place. The most important thing to me is that I am learning and using technology to solve problems, the how isn't definite but the what is. Having a definite "what" has helped me define what I do or do not do. Job titles & roles are just words, what is most important is the "what" as in "what you're doing there" & if it's something you are good at, care about and love doing.

I completely agree. Figure out what you like to do, and you'll discover that there are many paths to getting there. One nice thing about the field of psychology is that it is very broad, from basic research to clinical mental health work, to working in medical clinics or in law enforcement, or even in the corporate world. And in many cases you can get to your goal without the many years required for a PhD or PsyD. There are a lot of options!

Hello! This is a great question. Becoming a psychologist is a great path that should be explored if one loves helping others. However, there are so many other careers that also involve helping others and aiding them in solving certain challenges in life. Some questions that we should answer for ourselves are: (1) What is the demographic population that I would love to work with? (2) Why do I like helping this specific population and (3) how do I ensure I am not excluding others from my help/assistance? Often times, we tend to surround ourselves with those who remind us of ourselves and help them out the most. Make sure to keep your options open for now. Other careers that you can look into could be counseling, social work, education, etc. In my option, the most important part is to take care of and help ourselves before we can successfully help others!
Thank you for your feed back this was really helpful.
