Medicine is a tough field to study in so what motivated you to continue studying it even through hard times?
I've always known that studying medicine wasn't easy. Personally knowing people who have stepped off the pre-med track has made me wonder what exactly has encouraged those who are now doctors to continue. Getting answers from those who have experienced this first hand is something that will help me on the road to becoming a doctor. #doctor #medicine #pre-med #surgery #surgeon

William’s Answer
I had no difficulty in motivation. Once I made the decision to become a physician, I was committed to doing what was necessary to accomplish my goal. If it meant I had to study on Friday night or all day Saturday then that is what I had to do. My goal was the light at the end of the tunnel.
To be a good physician, no matter what your specialty, you need to be committed. That committment starts in high school and continues through college and medical school, residency and fellowship training.
To be frank, whatever you choose to do requires committment, especially if you want to excell.
