How hard is it to be a successful entrepreneur?

I want to be prepared for anything when trying to work towards be a business owner #entrepreneurship

Thank you comment icon I am a firm believer in a combination of education, life experiences, goal setting and mentoring to achieve desired results. My mentor who is considered a serial entrepreneur has a mantra, start small, think big, scale fast. Study cases of great entrepreneurs and apply learnings from their journey. David Pelan
Thank you comment icon It is very difficult to be a successful entrepreneur. Truth be told, more new businesses fail than succeed. But with hard work and determination it is very possible. You have to be extremely devoted and willing to work more than 40 hours a week. It can take a long time to become profitable: some businesses lose money for a year and a half before they start to make a profit. In addition taking business classes can help. Learning about business models and processes can help you understand the way to make your business successful. sarah

It is definitely a road less traveled and not for the faint of heart. In order to be a successful entrepreneur you have to fist and foremost be organized and committed. Vision is definitely important but you won't realize the vision if you do not plan well, continue to increase your skills, stay organized, manage your time well and above all, be committed. One of the biggest downfalls of entrepreneurship is the "time hole". When you are the manager of your own time it is easy for you and "others" to see you as just having a bunch of free time to do other things when in fact being an entrepreneur is your "job" and you have to be ready and working toward it at all times. So, in closing I would say yes, it is difficult and you have to be someone with a high level of commitment and willing to put your business first.
