Samantha’s Answer

Hey Lindsay,
- seek out extra credit opportunities
- go in for extra help and work with your teacher on what confuses you
- seek out tutoring for both class and the test (if possible)
- get a test book and practice questions similar to the exam
- things you don't get correctly review later until you understand what is the right answer
- worker smart, not longer-- focus on the things that you don't understand first then review the things you do
- FLASHCARDS

Hope this is helpful :D

Hi Lindsay . I see that you posted this question a little while ago so I hope my answer to you (or others who may read this response) is still helpful.

In my experience, increasing your GPA and getting test scores can take a high level of focus. Sometimes getting a jump on the school year by doing some review work or learning new concepts in the summer months can help get you familiar with things you will learn once you start school. It can be helpful to learn new concepts if you have seen those concepts in other places.

Another possible tactic may include setting goals for yourself. For example, what math grade or reading grade do you want for yourself by the end of the full school year? Once you set that goal, you can work out some plans on how to keep an eye on the scores you get so that if the grades are headed in the wrong direction, you can get a head start on improving them before the school year ends.

Also consider some of the "mechanics". How much time is being given to studying and checking your work? Is more needed? Is there an opportunity to do extra work to improve grades?

These are just a few suggestions. Hope you find them helpful and best of luck to you.

Hi Lindsay!

There are several ways to do this:
- talk to your teachers to see if they have any suggestions
- talk to your school counselor about changes that you might make in the way that you study
