Rachel’s Answer

It is very competitive. You will need to be in the top 25% of your class, preferably AOA (graduate with honors), and have a very high score on the STEP I exam. All of these are achievable, but you will need to work hard from the beginning.

Paul’s Answer

Very competitive, much as anything else once you get into medical school network, be friendly , positive and go above and beyond - there is also Family Medicine/Internal Medicine Sports Medicine which is essentially non operative orthopedic medicine

Depends on the medical school and geographic area you are in. Don't let competition deter you from your interests!

Richard’s Answer

Ortho is one of the most competitive specialty. To be accepted into an orthopedics residency you will need to be in the top 10% of your medical school class, have research experience, and get glowing recommendation letters from your surgery and orthopedics staff.
