Anyone can look up the top 50 or 100 engineering schools. Its more important o find the one that fits your abilities, interests and budget. It's critical to get this right because engineering school is challenging, especially in the first 2 years where you may have inadequate high school preparation and need to get up to the standard of engineering school to be able to complete your engineering education. Consider all the factors about the school that will affect your ability to complete your degree, otherwise you may be in debt without the benefit of good job. For example, engineering at a party school will not be a good choice. Consider going to local community college for freshman and sophomore years to save money but make sure the courses would be acceptable at the matriculating college of your choice. An engineering career can be very fulfilling, for example, using your ideas to help people. An engineering degree can lead to a wide range of other careers where employers need smart, hard working people.
