What other careers can you get with an Associates degree in health sciences?

I am currently enrolled in college to become a Cardiac Invasive Specialist. That program is an Associates degree in health sciences, so I was wondering what else I could do with the degree.

Thank you,

Hi Sierra

First, I would check with the college that you are enrolled in and see what other health science programs they offer and if these are areas that interest you. Some might require you to take different classes than what you are enrolled in now to obtain that specific health science degree. If becoming a cardiac invasive specialist is what your heart is set on, then you will have no program but waiting a year or so would mean staying in school longer, but worth it if you find a career you are passionate about. Good luck.

Hi Sierra,

There are many entry-level opportunities for someone with your education. Some suggestions would be to work for the Red Cross or American Cancer Society, both of which hold events that encourage discussion. You may also want to think about positions with Kaiser or hospitals, in an administrative capacity. Many intern opportunities exist with these organizations, which can help you better understand what you'd like to do with your degree.

Health Education for AIDS Foundation LA and other non-profit organizations are also looking for people. Although the pay may be minimal it's a nice step in the front door.

Good luck!
