D.’s Answer

Generally speaking, testing is low paid, tenuous work. It's generally not something you want to make a career of, but if you have other skills you can often start there and move into other roles.

Hi Deangelo. Being a QA tester is one of the best ways to get into the video game design business. I worked at Electronic Arts and many of the game testers/QA testers moved up from those positions to have roles on the game design team. Check out https://www.gametesterx.com/ to learn more. The good news is, you can test games remotely, so this is a perfect entry level position for our time! (COVID). There are a lot of video game companies, but check out the ones that make the video games you like the best. This way, you will look really smart and savvy in an interview when you know all about the games they design and make. Hope this helps and good luck!

Hello Deanglo look up QA tester. Many of your game companies are looking for people to test the latest video games, unreleased software and patches to find bugs and test the code and to essentially break the code so programmers can fix them before they are released to the general public. These positions can be both paid or unpaid. How much and if it's paid or unpaid is going to vary from company to company. Check out Glassdoor to look up the salary for some of the companies you are interested in
