What is the best college to attend if I want to become a veterinary technician?

I'm a senior in high school and I don't know many people who'd like to have a animal profession. I would like to find the best school for my passion. What school would you consider and why? #veterinarian #tech

I agree with Summer's answer, that no matter what school you choose, you'll have to take into account a variety of different factors aside from how great their program is. If one school has an "A+" program that's "$50,000 a year with little financial aid, but another offers an "A" program for half the price, it's worth weighing which is really worth it. I think many of us in the workforce can confidently say that paying student loans down, well into your 20's, is not fun!

Here are two websites that go through the best Vet Tech schools in the country:
https://www.bestvalueschools.org/vet-tech-schools/
https://www.accreditedschoolsonline.org/vocational-trade-school/vet-tech/

However, I'd also recommend utilizing this college comparison website to get a more holistic understanding of the colleges themselves. That way you can evaluate on a number of different factors aside from just the program:

Best of luck!

Consider University of Georgia- not far from your home and medium-cost on a beautiful campus.

I am sure there are many that could fit your career aspirations, but as I am from North Carolina, I would recommend you look into North Carolina State University (NCSU) as they offer a highly recognized and outstanding Veterinary program. Not only is that one of the core focuses besides Engineering, they offer vet services for the community as well. Good luck with your studies!

Here is a website that shows accredited veterinary technology programs: https://www.avma.org/education/accreditation/programs/veterinary-technology-programs-accredited-avma-cvtea

I think if you attend a college with one of these programs you'll be able to become a veterinary technician.

I would take into account factors of the college such as how much it costs to attend, how far away it is from your home, the size of the school, the location, if it's rural vs urban, etc. Make sure you want to attend a school because you like more than simply it's vet tech program.
