In simple words ... Its just your time and your skills. there are many domains where you may work on .... But every field takes little time to ramp up. But its all easy to be software engineer ... rather than Mechanical engineer or chemical engineer.
multiple domains like Development, testing , integration, support ..... But every where you can work .... by spending little time to understand the work flow.
Remember ... Any engineer like Mechanical engg, electrical engg, chemical engg can work as soft engg................ but an soft engg from IT background cant be mechanical engg and so on...
