This is fantastic that you already have Broadway experience. Continue your acting training, have your parents work on getting you a good agent and manager. You also can go to a arts Highschool since you are 14 and then go to college and major in theatre. Make sure that you have 2 monologues 1 dramatic and 1 comedic monologue that you can use during auditions. Last make sure to always have updated headshots. Good luck hope to see you on tv and the big screen soon :)

Ka'Mari! What an exciting career path!!

I agree with Damian's answer, that education is important and constant through out. I also find that getting as much experience and training as possible is going to help you as well.

Remember, it is hard work! Take as many classes as you can (dance, acting, singing, lighting, sewing, etc.) and be involved in as many productions as possible! This field is ever changing, once you take a dance class (for example) don't call it a day, keep taking classes!! Keep your skill set sharp and polished!

Every production you are involved in comes with a learning experience that you can apply to your next opportunity. Don't get discouraged if you don't get cast or don't get the part you are looking for. Keep putting yourself out there and keep a positive attitude and never stop learning!!!

Damian’s Answer

Hello K'Mari,

The first and unending step toward becoming an actress/actor is...EDUCATION.

If your school has a theatre department, take those classes if you haven't already. After you graduate or just before, find a university, school, and /or an acting coach that concentrates on the craft of acting, but just as important, ask questions regarding the business of the actor.
Also, two books that are basic and sacred to the craft of acting are An Actor Prepares by Konstantine Stanislavski and On Acting by Sanford Meisner. These are basic, but of course, this being an art, you can develop your own methods of the craft from there.

Next is mentorship whether it is from a working actor, director, agent or manager.

There is an agent and actor out there named Wendy Alane Wright. https://www.youtube.com/user/wendyalane1
She is fantastic for letting you know how the industry, including Hollywood, works, and how all of that applies to us as both beginning and experienced actors.

Ours is still a small community, but with huge scope and impact. Learning is something you are going to be doing throughout your entire career. So, really, what you are about to get into is creating the habit of learning. Actors are not just players on stage or camera, they are both the eternal student and teacher.

Merde and Break a leg!
