How hard is it to be an event planner?

I'm asking because I'm not sure if I want to spend my whole college career trying to become an event planner if it is not something I'm up to the challenge for! #business

Do you enjoy throwing parties and paying attention to detail? You don't need a college degree to become an event planner. It is good to have. A college degree to become educated and better your skills so you will be more confident conversing with others.

Amy, everything is relative. If your main skills match this career, I am sure you won't have a problem. It is like asking an athlete to run a mile. It should not be a big deal! However, someone unfit would find it really hard to run that mile.

Robin’s Answer

It's insanely tough but INCREDIBLY rewarding. You should try volunteering at local events to see if you'd like it day-to-day. You can also sign up with a local temp agency and ask to be placed on large corporate events. We are always using local talent and you'll see exactly what it's like to be in the thick of it.
