Richard’s Answer
The first two years of medical school are mainly in the classroom with several hours of lecture every day and the occasional lab including cell biology lab and gross anatomy lab. Plan on being in class or studying 10 hours per day.
The 3rd and 4th years of medical school are in the clinic or Hospital Ward. You rotate between the major Specialties in medicine. Sometimes you take call and spend all night at the hospital

Estelle’s Answer
As Richard said, the first 2 years of medical school are in class with staggered subjects from gross anatomy (which includes gross anatomy lab) to microbiology to pharmacology to physiology classes, for example. With COVID, the classes are virtual and exams are online and in person depending on the institution. You will likely spend 10 hours per day in class and studying with occasional practice sessions on physical exams. The next 2 years are in clinics and in the hospital on various rotations including internal medicine, ob/gyn, surgery, pediatrics, family medicine, and psychiatry.
