The first time I saw an image guided procedure as a medical student, it was amazing. Imagine if someone from the past heard that you could see inside the body and manipulate catheters to different organs to diagnose and treat disease, they would think it was some kind of magic.

Devin’s Answer

I personally was in school obtaining pre-requisites to be excepted into a Dental Hygiene program when my sister became ill with cancer and I learned about a Nuclear Medicine scan called a PET/CT scan that showed Doctors if and where cancer had spread. At this moment I decided that I was no longer interested in teeth but interested in doing something that could help saves peoples lives like my sister.

Paige’s Answer

I went into ultrasound. One of the biggest reasons I did was that ultrasound studies are dependent on the sonographer. If we miss it the radiologist will miss it. Sometimes our test can last up to an hour, which gives you time to make a connection with your patients. ultrasound sonography diagnosticimaging
