Hi Carson. I would suggest taking those interests you listed above and start by doing a google search and see what career options are out there related to things you already like. From there you can search colleges with programs that relate to those careers and even search your local areas for people that work in those fields. To really get an understanding of whether you want to pursue something or not, I would suggest reaching out to local individuals that are already in the career field you are interested in and seeing if you can shadow them for a day or even just do an informational interview with them.

Hi Carson,

Figure out what you want to do with your life is one of the most difficult things to do, but it sounds like you are already off to a great start. One of the first things I tell people who are trying to figure out what they want to do with the rest of their life is what are you passionate about. You have already figured out multiple things that you like to do and are passionate about, so use that to your advantage. Take each and every one of your interests and look up jobs within that interests. You should be able to find a range of jobs/careers and what requirements are need for that specific job or career. When deciding what you want to do don't take the path that will make you the most money or the path that is the easiest, take the path that plays to your interests and will make you happy in the end.

Carson, You are excelling and enjoying life so you are on a great path. Adding some experience to your passions will help you discover opportunities for careers and maybe better help you find your future. Volunteer if time and $ permit or find a job that relates to these activities. It's also equally important to think about the things you don't enjoy. For instance, you seem to love outdoors but does that preclude work indoors to assist with your passions? Knowing what you don't want to do or be can help find direction towards jobs/careers too.

As other said, the next step is getting to know some people who do what you think you might enjoy. Explore your networks. It's never too early to utilize linkedin.

Best of luck on your future endeavors.

Would you consider giving sequence to an activity that you like? For example if you like photography, then would you consider being a professional photographer. If you like cars, would you like to work as Technician or Engineer working with cars. Try to identify things that are easy for you to do and you enjoy doing. It means that you may have the skills and enjoy it. If you enjoy helping others in health treatment then would you consider a nursing or medical career ?
