Wendy’s Answer

Rising healthcare costs is making access for many unreachable. Utilizing technology and innovative platforms to deliver effective patient care will be critical going forward. Capitalizing on IT opportunities and advancing interoperability between multiple platforms will provide greater big picture success for a data rich but insight poor healthcare system.

Estelle’s Answer

Bryant, great question!
I completely agree with Wendy. Skyrocketing healthcare costs are by far the worst problem. I believe that is why we need healthcare reform. I hope that your generation can achieve that because we seem to have hit something of a stumbling block now. I am super proud of the US healthcare system, and I believe that we deliver the best healthcare in the world, but what good is it if no one can afford it? It's going to take a concerted effort between hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, insurance companies, and providers to change the reimbursement system.
