Ly'Darrien,

I am with you. First off, football is the best sport in the world (If I get reported on here for saying that, it is because someone else is some kind of soccer fan or something) Football is the best. And it is also the most difficult of all sports to go professional in. Think why - 32 NFL Teams with only 54 players on the roster = 1728 players total at any time. Just D1 colleges in America, roughly 360 with around 110 players on each roster = ~40,000 players. This is just D1 schools. Add in D2 schools (Which often have great athletes) and you're looking at another 40,000 players. This is about a 2% chance of making it to the NFL.

Now get after it.

Know that you need to out work and out perform 78,000 other players in the world and see if that doesn't get you motivated. Unless you are just God gifted with stupid speed or stupid size, you will need to work for that. Find a college that will take you and perform. Your coach is your biggest advocate. Your high school coach and college coaches will be the reason you make it. Find the right program that allows you to perform and make sure they know your intentions.

How bad do you want it?
Watch this video and make sure you are willing to put in the same work ethic.

Best of luck!

Valerie’s Answer

Hi Ly'Darrien,
I love football too ! I went to Penn State, so game days were the best :) I recommend doing your best on your high school football team so that you can be recruited into a college football program. I recommend going to a big school football program where there are lots of resources to help you become a better college athlete. Then you want to get noticed by the NFL and go into the draft.
Best of luck
