Harvey’s Answer

Hi Hari, there are also several industry certifications that are well regarded in the IT job market. These usually demonstrate a degree of hand-on technical proficiency and can usually be completed online. Just a few examples are:

CompTIA IT Fundamentals, A+, Network+ or Security+ (general/foundational IT knowledge)
Amazon Web Services Certification (Cloud computing)
Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (Microsoft cloud)
Cisco Certified Technician (networking)

There are many more advanced options to explore as you discover your particular area of interest (e.g cloud, networking, security, databases, virtualisation)

Typically to become an engineer one needs to do Physics/Chemistry/Maths/Computers till 12th. However, if you are interested in computer software you can explore BCA(Bachelor of Computer applications) followed by MCA(Master of computer applications). However, if you are interested in accounting then with your background you could also consider Chartered Accountancy. This will also involve some computers/information technology and as an accountant you will need to use computers and software to do your work.
