How many patients do you see in day as a pediatrician? I am not a pediatrician but I am internist and a specialist so I can give you an idea. But first it depends on the way your practice is set up...if you do urgent care, do procedures, go to the hospital, teach etc. Most physicians vary their activities so that you do different things during the week. For example on M and Tue, I might see patients all day (8-12 and 1-5). On Wednesday, I might do procedures or have a specialized clinic with Type 1 diabetes (a lot of graphs and data collections). Thursday morning see patients and afternoon teach resident physicians. Friday may be an administration day - where I meet with staff, take care of billing, review labs, contact patients and handle consults). This is an example but by no means is it rigid. So on Mon and Tuesday I can see from 15 to 40 patients a day. Again, these are just loose examples but hopefully it gives you a rough idea.
Dr. Finley, this is a very good example of your day. My son is a resident Pediatrician and I'm always amazed when I ask him how are things going or how was your day.
