depends on where you work. You can own practice or work at a hospital or clinic. You will always have a boss even when you own a practice. There is always someone to answer to in this profession. In this case, it is the licensing board and your own patients. They would be your boss.
In a hospital or clinic setting, it is highly likely there is a medical quality board that will check your charts and work after the fact, not necessarily while you examine a patient, but the records and billing codes that would be used after the fact.

Thank you Jason!

Hi Sammy,
It is great that you are passionate about becoming a pediatrician!
In general, no matter which profession you choose, you will always have to follow some rules and fulfill certain requirements. Additionally most professions including healthcare involve a lot of teamwork. Members of the team have different responsibilities.
Especially when people are at early stages of their career, they require more guidance. It is part of the training. With experience, people usually gain more independence.
For example, to become a pediatrician you will need to go to medical school and then complete a residency in pediatrics (maybe a fellowship if you choose to do so). During these stages, you will have mentors, who are responsible for your training. Afterwards, if you are working in a hospital setting, there will be rules and guidelines. If you are in private practice, there will still be guidelines to keep carrying out your practice.
Wishing you all the best!
