How could I manage a nursing career, going to school, and also trying to have a family in the future?

I'm asking this question because I'm currently planning on attending NTC in Medford, Wisconsin to complete my generals. I will also be living at home for my first year of college to save money, then move out and attend UW Eau Claire for the remainder of my college years. I plan to have a nursing career started before I graduate, or something in the medical field that I can build up to a nursing career, and have started a family after i turn 22. #registered-nurses #women

Hi Amber, I realize it can feel very daunting but the reality is you aren't alone. Most individuals in school, have to hold a part time or full time job and also think about a future - the positive side: we all figure it out! If these are goals you really want to achieve you will find a way to balance it out. It's definitely tough, but just ensure you stay focused on what you're trying to accomplish. Getting a good education will be your foundation to getting the job you want, and both those experiences will further help you develop into the person you're becoming for your future family. Each is a stepping stone, take one step at a time and start by focusing on your education. I'm sure you'll do amazing things!

Hi Amber!

I can relate to your question 100%. I was working full time, married and had a 2 year old when I decided to go back to school to get my MBA. It was a 2 year accelerated program and within that time I was pregnant with my 2nd child and again, still working full time. How did I do it? How can you do it? With a lot of support from your home network. My husband and family were super supportive, they took care of my 2 year old in the evenings when I was in class. I made sure I was dedicated to leaving work when I needed to in order to make it to class on time in the evenings. Was it easy, no. It was a very busy and stressful 2 years, however, I stayed focused on what was my end goal and leveraged whatever help I was able to get in order to complete it. I ended up finishing my MBA in 2 1/2 years, at that point my son was 4 and my youngest was 6 months old.
