Does being a civil engineer involve traveling a lot?

I'm looking into the field of civil engineering and before making it my choice as a future occupation I was wondering what it would hold in store for me and how it would affect my life. #civil-engineering #traveling

It really depends on if you work for a local, national, or international firm. The larger the firm the more likely you will be asked to travel at some point, especially if you follow a management track in your career. But all in all, there probably won't be a lot of traveling compared to other professions.
