Should I audition without an agent or should I get one first?
Many of my friends have been on professional Broadway auditions. Some have talent representation and some don't. Is it best to get an agent or manager or should I just go to an audition without one for the experience?

Audition as much and as often as you can.
Getting an agent helps, but it won't teach you how to audition. And if an agent gets you in front of producers/casting agents you are already going to need to know how to audition.
Keep in mind that acting/singing and auditioning are different skill sets. I've seen brilliant actors who are terrible at auditions. And I've seen brilliant auditions by bad actors. You will want to be good at both.
