Is it possible for individuals to be accepted into the ROTC Program that do not have a high enough ACT or SAT score?

Many individuals are really bad test takers, but will work harder than anyone who got an outstanding score on the ACT. If you can prove to the College that you want to attend, as well as the ROTC Program, is it at all possible to be accepted into the ROTC Program even if your scores aren't to the standards? #college #professor #military #rotc

Dino’s Answer

The best source would be an Army recruiter who would have access to recent average ACT SAT scores. The other source would be to contact the ROTC detachment located at the school you wish to attend and ask to speak to their recruiter.

It's been a long time since I was in ROTC but I believe that as long as you have been accepted to the college, you can enroll in the ROTC program. That is different though if you are talking about getting an ROTC scholarship to pay for your school. For the scholarship you would have to compete and test scores are part of the evaluation.

To be sure, check with the Military Science department at the colleges you are interested in.

Good luck.

You can actually join the ROTC program in college after you are already admitted. If ROTC is the way you want to go, I would concentrate on the SAT/ACT to help get you into a university that has a good ROTC program and then you can use your good standing/academic success at the university to get you into the ROTC program there.
